AutoPacific New Vehicle Satisfaction Survey Results

1

This is a note to the respondents of AutoPacific’s New Vehicle Satisfaction Survey (NVSS) earlier this year.

For 2011 we set a new record for responses from new car and  light truck owners.  A total of 73,000 responses were received – over 16,000 by mail and 57,000 using the VehicleVoice internet survey tool.  This was over two waves.  The first wave – NVSS 1.0 – generated over 68,000 respondents – 16,000 by mail and 52,000 by internet.  Chrysler had launched several of their new vehicles following the survey period as did Nissan with their Leaf electric vehicle.  We surveyed those people for two weeks beginning on July 1, 2011 and another 5,000 respondents were collected.  This results in NVSS 2.0.

The survey results of NVSS 1.0 were used to calculate AutoPacific’s 2011 Vehicle Satisfaction Awards that were released in May.  We were the first of the three research companies reporting the results of their 2011 research.  J.D.Power & Associates reported their Initial Quality Survey results in June with 73,000 respondents.  Strategic Vision reported their Total Quality Index results in July with 37,000 respondents.

You can see the total results (from top to bottom) by clicking on this link:  Vehicle Satisfaction Awards .  Notice that we are the only ones that show all the results not just those above industry average.

Coming later in July, AutoPacific will announce the winners of its Ideal Vehicle Awards (IVA) based on NVSS 2.0.  This recognizes those best designed to meet the requirements of their buyers.  IVA shows how closely the manufacturer paid attention to the needs of the people they thought would buy their cars and trucks.

I would like to thank each and every one of you new car and light truck owners who responded to our survey this year.  The data collected will be used to help manufacturers design and build better vehicles for you in the future.

Again, thank you very much for your help.

I just bought a new Ford Flex about 5 months ago. I received a survey in the mail from AotoPacific and wanted to fill the survey out on line. It said to enter my token numberand the only thing that I could find was BB 313567. When I typed it in, it said that it was not valid or had been used. I do not remember entering the survey. Can you shed some light on this? All entries must be in by 4/13/2012.
My e-mail address is bettiebcom@yahoo.com. Thank you for any feedback that you can give.
