Nissan claims that its new Altima Coupe, which debuted at the L.A. Auto Show, is dramatic and “stands out in a crowd of sedan-based two-door models.”
Well, it certainly is good looking, but if a car company makes a car that doesn’t have a built in buyer demographic, does it matter how handsome it is? That’s just the question AutoPacific founder George Peterson was asking when he had his first look at the Nissan Altima Coupe.

While the World Debut of the Audi TT Roadster caused quite a stir in the Audi booth during the press days at the L.A. Auto Show, it was another unveiling just a few feet away that had AutoPacific Senior Analyst and Audi afficionado Jim Hall really excited.
The Audi R8 made its North American debut here, and sports car fans as well as those that appreciate really beautiful automotive design were drooling over this one. When it hits the road in 2007, it will be easy to spot this new coupe by the crowd of admirers following behind. Jim Hall will be one of them, until his own (now on [...]

This year the L.A. Auto Show celebrated it’s 100th Anniversary, and it did so in style. With 13 North American debuts and 23 World debuts, the 2006 Los Angeles International Auto Show earned the adjective international.
One of the cars making its first appearance before the automotive press and the general public is the all new 2007 Audi TT Roadster. AutoPacific Vice President and Senior Analyst Jim Hall has been looking at cars professionally for a long time now, and he just so happens to be a huge Audi fan, not to mention the owner of the World’s Most Expensive (older model) TT. So who better to give this new [...]

There are few things more thrilling at an auto show than to be there for the unveiling or a truly exotic street car. When the well-heeled executives at Lamborghini whipped the silk off the all new Murcielago LP640, the huge crowd of automotive journalists crowded around the Italian marque’s booth gasped. It’s breathtaking, with the pearled-white paint glistening under the lights, and the promise of more speed than any sane person could handle growling under the hood.
But it’s hard to turn the head of AutoPacific analyst Keagan Patrick with a little glitz and glamour. Sure, he wouldn’t turn his nose up at a chance to drive the new [...]

The new Buick Enclave crossover could be a hit, but it's probably not going to take over a traditional demographic Buick is gunning for.

You know us. After hundreds of stories and nearly 50 podcasts, you know that all of us here at VehicleVoice are rather addicted to screeching around test tracks. Someone asks us, “Hey! You VehicleVoice folks! Wanna go screech around a test track?” And we always say “Yes.” We’re easy. We’ll admit it.
But a few weeks ago, when BMW asked us if we wanted to get into some of its high performance M cars and go screech around the California Speedway, we didn’t know what to say. Mainly because we had been struck dumb. We were that excited. We eventually found our voices, and yelled “Hell yes!” Then we packed [...]

This Saturday was a red letter day for Southern California automotive enthusiasts. For the past several years some of the most rare and exotic cars that are still roadworthy have gathered informally each Saturday morning at Crystal Cove Promenade (a really upscale strip mall on Pacific Coast Highway) in Newport Beach, California. And for nearly that long, the Center’s owner, the Irvine Company, has been giving the group a hard time about it. Finally, after threats, resident complaints, lots of orange traffic cones, and probably a dozen or so lawyers, the informal Crystal Cove auto show got the boot.
