The Honda Odyssey Minivan wins the Ideal Minivan honors for 2006. In competition with the Ford Freestar, Toyota Sienna, and Chrysler Town & Country, among nine others (twelve in all), the Honda Odyssey excelled. The verdict was clear; Honda engineers and designers are in sync with their audience. Stacked against the competition, owners of the Odyssey were least likely to find a reason to change their vehicle. Owners wanted to keep their passenger area the same, along with their cargo space, their level of technology, interior storage, their power and acceleration; they even wanted to keep the same wheels and tires. *Honda Odyssey also was the top rated Minivan in AutoPacific’s 2006 Vehicle Satisfaction Awards.

I have this week bought a 2006 Honda Odyssey Touring. I had planned to wait for the 2007 model but because of breaking the rear window accidentally and getting over $4000 discount on the new one I bought the 2006. So far I have only one complaint and that is I am having a slow time understanding the navigation system but I’m sure that in time I’ll master it. This is the quietest car I have ever driven in,even quieter than my 2005 Mercedes E320CDI.
Hi John:
Thanks for your comments on the Odyssey. Odyssey was top rated Minivan in AutoPacific’s Vehicle Satisfaction Award and tops in the Ideal Vehicle Award. This means Honda certainly is doing something right. Every nav system is different – different interfaces, etc. They usually take a little time to figure out. Let us know how you fare with the Odyssey system.
