2014 GMC Sierra 1500 Wins AutoPacific Ideal Vehicle Award

Untitled

The 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 is the highest scoring Light-Duty Pickup in AutoPacific’s 2014 Ideal Vehicle Award research. Even though the vehicle has been criticized in some circles because of the evolutionary and conservative change to its exterior styling, the 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 product development team knew what their consumers wanted and met their requirements. The 2014 Sierra 1500 leads its category against some impressive light duty pickup trucks such as the Honda Ridgeline, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra, and the Nissan Frontier.  The 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 also won its category in AutoPacific’s 2014 Vehicle Satisfaction Award research.

Owners of the 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 are pleased with their vehicle and do not want many changes. Of the fifteen categories in the Ideal Vehicle survey, the GMC Sierra 1500 leads or ties in five categories and is within three percentage points of another five.

The top five highest ratings by 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 owners are: same cargo space, same exterior size, same passenger room, same exterior styling (so clearly owners are not demanding different styling), and same wheels as now.

Sierra 1500 owners did want several things changed with the vehicle. Owners would like a simpler information and entertainment system, more power and acceleration, and different interior lighting.  Owners would also like it to be easier to get in and out of the vehicle.
