Saturn Sky owners rated their new car well above the competition in the Sports Car Segment of the 2008 Vehicle Satisfaction Awards. While, predictably, the Sky didn’t score well in Cargo Space, Cup Holders, or Interior Space, owners’ satisfaction with Image, Exterior Styling and Overall Quality made the Sky a real winner.

The Audi TT’s design, performance and sophistication all work in concert, allowing it to handily win the 2008 Vehicle Satisfaction Award in the Premium Sports Car Segment. Contributing to its win were the TT’s high marks for Interior and Exterior styling, Brand Reputation and Overall Quality. The youthful, edgy and economical Scion brand has a winner in the all-new xD. Owners awarded the xD the highest satisfaction ratings in the Economy Car Segment for the 2008 Vehicle Satisfaction Awards. xD received strong satisfaction scores in critically important attributes for Economy Car buyers, including Reputation, Reliability and Overall Quality, making the xD the uncontested winner in the Segment.

The all-new Mitsubishi Lancer outpaced the competition in the very competitive Compact Car Segment. From the base Lancer to the GTS, owners are satisfied with the reincarnation of Mitsubishi’s compact, 4-door sedan. Owners appreciated the Lancer’s Exterior Styling, with its aggressive design and shark-like nose. There also were high satisfaction scores for Safety as Mitsubishi sets a new benchmark for passive safety with a seven-airbag system, a first in the segment.

With its retro styling and versatile package, the Chevrolet HHR collected top honors in the Image Compact Car Segment. It received high marks for Exterior Styling and also got high ratings in Ease of Getting In and Out. Although owners had complaints about Cupholder Design and Size, the HHR held its own against the competition.

Volkswagen took home top honors in the Image Compact Car Segment with the GTi. Overall Quality and the Fun Factor were main reasons the GTi performed well in the Vehicle Satisfaction Survey. Owners named Power, Braking, Handling and Exterior Styling as the vehicle’s major strengths.

The Volkswagen Jetta is top-ranked in the Mid-Size Car Segment, winning its 2008 Vehicle Satisfaction Award based on some traditional Volkswagen strengths, such as Fun to Drive, Braking and Handling. Owner ratings in these important dynamic areas were complemented by strong ratings in Feeling Safe While Driving, Safety Features and Overall Quality.

The Mercury Milan ranks at the top of the Mid-Size Car category, winning the 2008 Vehicle Satisfaction Award with strong ratings for Styling and Feeling Safe While Driving. In the two years Milan has been on the market, it has established a Reputation valued by its owners. Milan owners rate their Experience with their Lincoln-Mercury Dealer highly and find the Milan a good Value for the Money.

The Reputation of the Lexus brand and the Reputation of the ES for Quality, Comfort and Reliability contributed to its position atop its product category.

Cadillac DTS owners have rated the ’08 DTS at the top of the Large Luxury Car Segment for the second year in a row. Cadillac knows its Large Sedan customers very well — many are second-, third- and fourth-time buyers. The Reputation of the Cadillac brand and of the DTS attracted customers to the car. Ride and Braking in particular are strong points among owners. The DTS is on-target for Cadillac’s most mature buyers.
