In April, Chinese car maker, Brilliance Auto, submitted their new sedan to the European marketplace for crash testing. It got one star. Basically, the car was as safe in a head on collision at 40 miles an hour as Britney Spears’ kids are when the nanny’s got the night off.
The sedan, called the BS6 (a wonderfully subtle example of Chinglish), is just the beginning of the Chinese wave of automobiles into the U.S. and European markets, according to resident ranter Jim Hall. But the name and the safety rating didn’t tweak Hall’s twisted sense of humor as much as the press release Brilliance issued after the crash test.
