The Ford Taurus SHO is a good example of a nicely put together, potentially efficient and exciting new sport sedan. I would suggest the SHO be invited to the next G8 summit, if catch my drift. All four wheels of it.

 

There are every year new models of cars and work vehicles but the trend in the last 2 years seem to suggest that more and more people choose to buy a Suv car. The question is: “Why do people buy Suv cars despite the financial crisis which involves families and industries?”

Before to find an answer, let’s see what a Suv car is. Suv is the short form for Sportive utility vehicle and it indicates a kind of vehicles that are all very big, higher and tougher than normal cars. Such cars have therefore a stronger resistance in case of accidents. If a normal car would get thrown out the road, a Suv car would in most cases be safe. This has also a counterpart: the other car would immediately get destroyed by the accelerated power of the Suv during the impact.

As true of most manufacturers, Chrysler LLC is working on a full electric vehicle. Chrysler is going for the sport-minded set, though, teasing with a two-seat Dodge sports car, complementing Jeep Patriot EV and Chrysler Town & Country more practical-minded extended-range EV concepts.

Who says extended-range vehicles can’t tackle trails? Not Jeep, as they explore the application of in-wheel motors to a vehicle with full Jeep capability. This concept is not officially Trail Rated, but that’s the direction Jeep is heading.

Two Jeep products at this year’s Detroit show explore applying extended-range electric powertrains to the iconic go-anywhere brand. The Patriot described here gives small SUV buyers an option, while the Jeep Wrangler EV concept explores four-wheel-drive applications.

Though Chrysler announced their intention to create extended-range electric vehicles along the lines of Chevrolet Volt back in September 2008, they used the 2009 Detroit show to provide a few more details and an update on the program overall. Also, unlike GM, Chrysler LLC is exploring using the powertrain in existing vehicles rather than creating an all-new platform.



Four products were shown in Detroit, including a Dodge, two Jeeps, and this Chrysler Town & Country.
