Mercedes-Benz showed its Ocean Drive Concept Car at the 2007 North American Auto Show Detroit in Detroit. Needless to say, AutoPacific and VehicleVoice correspondents were on hand to see the car in person. What we have here is a Mercedes interpretation of the four-door convertible last seen in production form in the 1960s Lincoln Continental Convertibles and more recently in concept form by an ASC Concept four-door Chrysler 300C Convertible.
Ford has given us a glimpse of the cadence of future features that American car buyers can expect to see from the Company in the coming years. In Ford's case, they conducted the research and have been closely evaluating what their competition is doing. Derrick Kuzak, Ford's new head of worldwide product development, states that, "Ford will offer a new feature when it appears that two of our major competitors have offered or appear to be ready to offer a new feature."

In early December, Ford hosted an event that allowed VehicleVoice and AutoPacific staffers to peek into the future for Ford, Mercury and Lincoln vehicles. One of the more intriguing presentations had to do with the future design direction of their Lincoln brand.
It has been known for some time that Chrysler Group and Chery Automobile Company of Wuhu, China were negotiating for Chery to build a B-Segment car for Chrysler. It appears that the companies have now reached an agreement and all that is left is the approval by the various Chinese governmental bodies and the DaimlerChrysler Board.
