As luck would have it, Ferrari and Shell Oil turned the 10th of a mile roadway behind our hotel (and adjacent to the London Eye) in London into an F1 dragstrip to demonstrate the advantages of Shell’s V-Power “petrol”. Ferrari donated drivers, cars and several sets of tires for their car to blast up and down the street for a Shell Oil promotion. The event also included superbike demonstrations and stunt driving. The best part was the hand-turned turntable set up at the end of the route where techs turned around the F1 car, stunt cars and superbike by hand.

V-Power Introduced in England Two Years Following USA
Shell introduced its V-Power premium petrol in London on August 23 [...]

The Toyota Formula One team took advantage of a warm day, an enthusiastic crowd, and a new set of Bridgestone tires to break the all-time track record at the Mazda Laguna Seca racetrack in central California this past Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
DuPont spoke with GT 500 chief Hau Thai-Tang on stage about the new car. "The Mustang is a remarkable car," Tai-Tang remarked. "For around forty thousand dollars, you get a car with five hundred horsepower."
Nanjing Automobile Corporation has acquired Jaguar and Land Rover. Nanjing's acquisition furthers their objectives to recreate British Leyland Motors in China. Contrary to recent reports, Hyundai Motor Corporation will not acquire Jaguar/Land Rover. Nanjing nosed out Hyundai in the last flurry of bidding as the eBay auction closed.
