Owners of the Subaru Legacy give the car top satisfaction marks for the second year in a row. Legacy owners gave the Legacy top satisfaction ratings for 25 of 48 attributes contributing to AutoPacific’s Vehicle Satisfaction Award research.

Legacy is the top rated Mid-Size Car based on owner ratings of changes they want in the car in AutoPacific’s 2011 Ideal Vehicle Research.  As the class winner, Legacy owners want very little change in their car, but there are a few exceptions.  About 30% want more infotainment technology and power.  Legacy owners like the size of their car, its ride and seat comfort.  For these owners, it interior roominess is about ideal.  The Legacy came in well ahead of the second place Subaru Outback. 

Congratulations to 2009 Subaru Forester, winning the 2009 AutoPacific Ideal Vehicle Award in the Mid-Size Crossover SUV segment.

AutoPacific: Currently in its third generation, the Subaru Outback is a 2008 Motorist Choice Award® winner. Owners touted the car’s safety with high ratings for traction, safety features and feeling safe while driving. The Outback also garnered top marks for acceleration, handling, overall quality and both vehicle and brand reputation. Driver’s seat comfort and the Outback’s flexible/changeable interior and cargo capacity also were determining factors.
IntelliChoice: The Subaru outback was a 2008 BOVY Winner. In addition, the Outback has best-in-class ownership costs, retained value and insurance costs.

Owners rated the Subaru Forester as tops in the 2008 Ideal Vehicle Awards for Compact Crossover SUV, with a seamless AWD system and solid build quality. Performance in terms of exceptionally sure-footed handling and plenty of power and acceleration were balanced with practicality – owners especially appreciated the interior storage and visibility.

Last year our office had the opportunity to drive a Subaru Legacy Spec B where we realized that much of what we believed about Subaru products have now become misconceptions .
