Television commercials are designed to grab our attention - to motivate us to take some action, based on the emotion created. As such, national TV spots are often expensive (as in millions of dollars for a 30 second spot), and in some cases risky, too. Thanks to some new automotive technology, at least one part of the formula is about to change.

Volkswagen introduced four special edition cars and announced a special promotion for the 4th Quarter of 2006 at an event at the Playboy Mansion. The special editions included a high value Wolfsburg Edition Jetta, two Fahrenheit models - a GTi Fahrenheit and GLi Fahrenheit, and a triple white New Beetle.
Car and light truck sales in the USA are forecast to exceed 18,000,000 cars and light trucks by 2010 or 2011. This is about 4% higher than the previous peak reached in 2000.

While I never thought the MX-5 needed a retractable hard top, it does fit the vehicle well.
